Abstract: |
With the reduction of the ground surface, three possible rubbish pits were exposed cut into the natural bedrock. A pit located in the south-western corner of the site was filled with a very dark grey brown sandy loam and contained vast quantities of glass, animal bone and the base of a sandstone pillar or column. The finds were dated to the late 18th-19th century. A culvert, drain, vault and wall footings were also observed. [Au(adp)] |
