Abstract: |
Archaeological remains surrounded the site. A Roman Road ran adjacent, and earthworks relating to a Deserted Medieval Settlement lay close. A fieldwalking exercise in 1990 identified artefact scatters, and the potential for medieval/post-medieval remains was considered to be high, especially with regard to hedgerows and field boundaries.
