Abstract:		 A desk-based assessment was undertaken within the area of the proposed flood defences. The assessment identified that features, settlements and finds of Neolithic, Bronze Age and Early Iron Age date were situated in the proposed scheme area. The assessment also identified Roman settlements, forts, roads and other features were situated within the study area. The potential for medieval and post-medieval occupation and settlement archaeology was also identified. [Au(abr)]
