Abstract: |
A two-week watching brief was carried out in the basements and rear yards of a row of 19th century houses. Fourteen test-pits were observed, but no finds or structures dating from before post-medieval times were recorded. A large mass of intact brickwork may have been associated with the former Coliseum building, built circa 1824-7. It was recommended that a watching brief should be maintained during reduction of the rear garden area. [AIP] |
