Abstract: |
An evaluation was carried out at the proposed site of a residential development, part of which had been evaluated during a previous phase. The site lay on the Thames Valley Floodplain, an area of high archaeological potential. During the evaluation, plough marks were noted and a gully containing prehistoric flints and post-medieval finds was recorded. Two undated post holes were revealed. Modern features included rubbish pits, post holes and drainage gullies. Taking the previous evaluation phase into account, it was concluded that the site had no further archaeological potential.
