Abstract: |
An evaluation was carried out at a site proposed for the construction of two houses, which lay near the former site of a church believed to have had Norman origins. Earthworks in the area, postulated to extend onto the site, may have indicated the remains of an associated medieval village. During the evaluation, a large undated pit or ditch terminal containing animal bones and a flint flake was recorded. A shallow post hole, possibly modern in date, was also observed. [AIP] |
