Abstract: |
A watching brief observed foundation trenches for new houses, but unfortunately the amount of evidence recovered was too limited to allow detailed comment on the early development of the town. However, the presence of a 13th or 14th century pit suggested occupation in the vicinity during this period. The fact that this was then cut by a later medieval feature and an undated feature also pointed to continued later activity in the vicinity. [Au(abr)] |
