Abstract: |
The evaluation was carried out in the area of the proposed development of six terraced houses and one flat on the L-shaped parcel of land. No archaeological features were observed in any of the trenches nor were any artefacts recovered which pre-dated the post-medieval period. However evidence was recovered for an infilled pond, situated immediately south of an existing pond. In addition, a former stream aligned N-S continued to the south of the application area to meet another stream originally running down Yardley Road. The stream continued down the western side of the High Street before feeding into the River Ouse to the south of the town. [Au] |
