Abstract: |
The site had the potential that for Bronze Age, Romano-British and post-medieval remains. The Scheduled Ancient Monument of Tumble beacon lay 150m to the south-west of the site. This was a Bronze Age bowl barrow that was later enlarged and used in the medieval and post-medieval period as a site of a warning beacon. Bronze Age worked flint had also been found in the vicinity. A number of Romano-British chance finds, and a possible building, suggested limited activity in the area. [Au(abr)] |
