Abstract: |
Archaeological monitoring was undertaken on the groundworks for the erection of a conservatory. No incised archaeological features were present within the area of the new conservatory. The finds included animal bone, roof-tile, floor tile, brick, glass, clay pipes, pottery, nails and a copper alloy thimble. The majority were post-medieval in date, although two sherds of medieval courseware and one of medieval green glazed ware were present. Almost all of the finds were recovered from a layer of topsoil which may or may not have been generated on the site, and their provenance was uncertain. [Au(adp)] |
