Abstract: |
<summary>Following a previous evaluation, a watching brief was undertaken on the excavation of construction trenches. Four lengths of sandstone wall of possible medieval date, together with a stone-lined rectangular cistern, also of possible medieval date, were observed. The area examined would appear to have been a yard in the Medieval period, with the walls being boundary walls. The fact that these boundaries were broadly respected by later post-medieval walls could suggest considerable continuity in the settlement pattern of this part of Richmond. {italon}AIP{italoff} |
