Abstract: |
Monitoring of the excavation of the foundation trench systems revealed the location of an undated ditch running parallel to the street frontage. This ditch silted up and was sealed by a possible ground raising deposits of sand and gravel. A roadside/field boundary ditch appeared to have been cut on a similar alignment in the 19th century. The fill of this later ditch contained one sherd of 14/15th century Humberware and three sherds of 19th century pottery. [Au(abr)] |
