Abstract: |
Archaeological monitoring took place during the construction of a new pumping station. Previously known archaeology consisted of a medieval 'strip-lynchet' system. However, the groundworks did not disturb the well preserved lynchets and no unknown archaeological features were disturbed. The complete absence of artefacts from all areas suggested that there had been little or no settlement activity in this area in the past and that agriculture was the primary land use. [Au(abr)] |
