Abstract: |
An evaluation was carried out at a site within an archaeological priority zone. It lay within 20m of a site where Roman features and medieval pottery had been excavated. Other prehistoric, Roman and medieval remains were known in the vicinity. During the evaluation, a section of chalk and flint block wall of medieval or earlier date was encountered. Roman, medieval and 17th century pottery was recovered. The articulated remains of at least four animals, including two dogs, were found. It was concluded that further investigations would be necessary. [AIP] |
