Abstract:
The desk based assessment was undertaken as a partial fulfillment of planning permission for the construction of a boathouse and associated works. The assessment succeeded in following the development of the canal basin from its beginning in 1776. It concluded that further evaluation work would help to throw light on the social and economic development of the canal and the people who made a living on it. [AIP]
