Abstract: |
A single trench, 6m wide and 35m long, was excavated as part of an archaeological evaluation of the site prior the proposed extension of the adjacent churchyard. The excavation revealed the remains of extensive areas of relatively modern disturbance, due to a combination of quarrying, drainage works and later foundations associated with the farm fronting the Elstow Road. The extent and depth of the disturbance left no areas of archaeological interest intact. [Au(adp)] |
