Abstract: |
Desk-based assessment identified that the study area once lay within the ancient royal Kinswood Forest or Chase. Irregular small enclosures shown on 19th century maps, suggestive of assarts, were identified, and may have been of some antiquity. Two areas of the site contained buildings in the early 19th century and a pennant sandstone quarry was formerly operated in the area. [AIP] |
