Abstract: |
An archaeological field evaluation was undertaken on the proposed North Tawton to Whiddon Down underground cable route crossing four plots of land. All four plots were previously subject in part to archaeological field investigations. Only two archaeological features were identified, both undated, consisting of a ditch and a post hole. A small amount of chert and flint which included two Mesolithic blade forms was recovered from ten trenches in Plots 2-4. The potential for archaeological remains was considered to be low. The groundworks were not seen to have any significant impact on the archaeological resource of the area. [Au(adp)] |
