Abstract: |
There was little evidence for industrial use on the site, although some industrial housing was present and there was possibly a malthouse in the area. It was clear from the cartographic sources and the observations made during the excavation of the geotechnical pits that the entire site had been substantially altered. No in situ archaeological deposits were encountered during the excavation of the test pits; however, this did not preclude the survival of archaeological deposits across the site associated with its post-medieval industrial usage. In addition, Iron Age activity in Tiverton was also demonstrated. [Au(abr)] |
