Abstract: |
The excavation revealed evidence of late Bronze Age activity, shown by a series of post holes which may have included elements of domestic structures. Finds of spindle whorls and oven debris suggested a domestic occupation and a local economy that must have included an element of pastoral farming. Two groups of cremation burials indicated a cemetery area, contemporary with the domestic site. A series of later field ditches demonstrated late Bronze Age farming, with pits showing some activity here in the Middle Iron Age. [Au(abr)] |
