Abstract: |
A field evaluation, consisting of the excavation of two 10m by 2m trial trenches, was undertaken in advance of the proposed housing adjacent to St Peter and St Paul's churchyard. Approximately 10% of the site was examined, revealing a Late Bronze Age or Early Iron Age ditch, traces of a medieval clay floor and medieval and later pits. Residual Roman and Saxon pottery was also recovered from the site. [Au] |
