Abstract: |
The assessment revealed that the site did not contain any significant upstanding remains, but that it was situated in the historic core of Reading, perhaps on the boundary of the Saxon settlement. It was likely that buried archaeological remains of the Saxon and medieval periods may have been located on the site and a programme of archaeological evaluation may have been required in order to provide further information about any buried archaeological remains present.
