Abstract: |
An archaeological assessment was carried out on the proposed route of a water pipeline between Conistone and Buckden. A walkover survey identified a medieval wayside cross and a Grade II Listed bridge. Other features identified include possible settlement sites, field boundaries, cultivation terraces and lynchets dating from the later prehistoric period onwards. A topographic survey was undertaken on the features and further evaluation and investigation was recommended. [Au(abr)] |
