Abstract: |
After previous site evaluation trenching (ASUD 1123), a further single trench was excavated in advance of a proposed development. A rough, stony surface, probably a yard or roadside structure of medieval date, was recorded. A gravel filled gully of medieval date, likely to be a former land boundary, was also recorded. These features were covered by a silt deposit containing 14th-15th century pottery, likely to have represented domestic waste. An assemblage of animal bones was also recorded of good preservation. Demolition debris overlay the entire site represented buildings that would have significantly truncated the site. A short account of the work and pottery report was recommended to be published.
