Abstract: |
An evaluation was carried out at the proposed site of a residential development, which was considered to have potential for intact palaeo-landsurfaces. A number of recent or modern features were recorded, including plough marks and service trenches. Several undated linear features and a post hole were also considered to have been of recent origin. No artefacts pre-dating the late 19th century were recovered. A possible palaeochannel and a natural linear feature were recorded, but the absence of any associated contemporary archaeological activity suggested that these were unlikely to be of archaeological significance.
