Abstract: |
The site, proposed for the construction of a house, access road and parking, lay close to the findspot of five Neolithic handaxes and to a Roman cemetery. An electrical resistivity survey was carried out, and although no conclusive evidence was found for buried archaeological features, electrical resistivity anomalies were found to be strong. These were thought to reflect dumps of stoney material or drains, a buried tennis court and services. Evidence for a phase of ploughing was also detected. [Au(abr)] |
