Abstract: |
The excavation of trenches revealed that burials in the churchyard are within 0.25m of the ground surface. Between the south-east corner of the Chancel and the blocked door in the south wall, the top of a brick-line grave was exposed. The grave was topped by stone flags, with the brick lining going down at least 4 courses. A further burial was identified in the south section of the trench. The only other archaeological feature was a post hole close to the south-east corner of the Chancel. [Au(abr)] |
