Abstract: |
<summary>An assessment of the archaeological potential of land adjacent to St Mary's Church was undertaken, in response to the proposed extension of the graveyard. The land is known to have produced finds from the Prehistoric period onwards, culminating in it being the site of the medieval manor house. Although there are no Scheduled Ancient Monuments on the site, there are two Listed Buildings in the area. It was recommended that the standing remains of Pound House and the manor house should be cleared of vegetation and archaeologically recorded, and that the area north of Pound House should be subject to an archaeological evaluation. {italon}AIP{italoff} |
