Abstract: |
The monitoring of a programme of renovation within the grade II listed building, thought to date from the late 17th or early 18th centuries, was undertaken. Evidence was found for a brick built wall that was believed to have formed an original internal division within the building. A series of deposits to one side of the wall was believed to represent a back-filled cellar whilst what may have been the setting for some sort of hearth was also found sealed below 19th century and later floors. In an area of recent extension to the rear of the property modern deposits were seen to extend below the level of renovation works. [Au] |
