Abstract: |
Archaeological monitoring was carried out on the removal of overburden at a quarry site. Late Bronze Age/Early Iron Age pits containing cremated remains and a four-post structure were identified. Early/Mid Iron Age rubbish pits were uncovered and Saxo-Norman animal burial pits, sunken floored pits and an animal pen were also encountered. Medieval and post-medieval ditches and pits were uncovered, relating to agricultural activity. [Au(abr)] |
