Abstract: |
Evaluation on land proposed for a housing development established the presence of Roman boundary/drainage ditches dated to the 2nd to 4th centuries. A significant quantity of masonry debris, in the form of a dwarf column base, fragments of two large quernstones and a fragment of a slab table top were excavated from late fourth century or possibly early fifth century backfilling of a ditch feature.
