Abstract: |
An excavation was carried out on the route of a new drain for the church. The investigation uncovered three burials that predated the construction of the mid 13th century aisle and the 15th century tower. The burials lacked grave goods; however, it was concluded that all three could be dated between the first phase of construction in the 11th century and the construction of the aisle in the mid 13th century. The upper fill of the grave was disturbed by the construction of a mid 13th century drain and aisle. The presence of post-medieval material in the upper levels suggested further disturbance in later periods. [Au(adp)] |
