Abstract: |
After the desk-based assessment over the whole study area, Areas A & B were submitted to fieldwalking surveys. Over Area B the quantity of finds recovered was small, considering the overall size of Area B. The only significant category of finds comprised worked flint, flint cores, and a small quantity of burnt unworked flint. The distribution of the flint showed a concentration in the dry valley to the south-west of the study area, flanking Dilton Middle Down. This was adjacent to the site of a possible Neolithic bowl barrow, partially excavated by Colt-Hoare in the 19th century, and south-west of a possible field system on Westbury Down. [Au(abr)] |
