Abstract: |
A desk-top assessment of a proposed development site was undertaken. A small number of artefacts dating from the mesolithic to the bronze age had been found in the area. Westminster Abbey, which lay nearby, may have been founded as early as the 8th century; medieval estates had been documented in the area. Alluvial deposits and fish bones had been recorded within engineering test pits at the site. It was suggested that further consideration of archaeological implications would be necessary. [AIP] |
