Abstract: |
The evaluation, comprising the excavation of four trial trenches, was undertaken prior to the proposed construction of a new car park. Following the evaluation of the site, a watching brief was maintained during ground preparation works. No significant archaeological features were identified during the course of the evaluation. Deposits on the site confirmed documentary records which suggested that the area was used as a tipping area for waste produced within the adjoining Stables and Orangery. [Au(adp)] |
