Abstract: |
The assessment was concentrated on the 8b George Street and its surrounding area. The assessment of the importance of the archaeological remains in the immediate vicinity was based on the available sources and the impact of any proposals upon them were identified and discussed. It was considered that the likelihood of archaeological remains existing on the site was minimal. However, it was recommended that either compressed air drilling or remote sensing preceded any below ground development due to the close proximity of a known large cave and the possibility of unknown caves exsiting below the site itself.
