Abstract: |
An Archaeological Watching Brief was undertaken on the laying of narrow water pipelines between Wharram-le-Street and an underground reservoir located approximately 600m to the south of the village. The trench was restricted to the modern roadside verge and several pits and ditches of archaeological significance were recored in plan and section. At least two of the ditches appeared to coincide with a ditched trackway recorded on aerial phoographs of the area. [Au] |
