A watching brief during groundworks for the construction of a dwelling on land adjacent to Orchard House, in an area within the core of the medieval town of Hedon and close to the medieval hospital revealed two layers of dumped material containing a substantial quantity of animal bone and shell, and a smaller quantity of late 14th/early 15th century Humberware pottery.
