Abstract: |
An evaluation was carried out at the proposed site of a residential development. Extensive Romano-British features had been recorded immediately to the south, and a Roman road passed nearby. During the evaluation, post holes, gullies and several undated but probably Roman enclosure ditches were located. Medieval and modern pottery was recovered from four ditches. It was concluded that the enclosures had probably lain adjacent to a settlement, and that the gullies and post holes may have indicated settlement activity. [AIP] |
