Abstract: |
A desk-based study to assess the archaeological implications of a proposed housing development identified that the archaeological potential of the site lay within the possibility of Roman occupation and land use in the area and a likelyhood for medieval settlement remains associated with the former tithing of Bratton. There was a possibility that medieval houses and other buildings existed in areas adjacent to early paths and roadways, most particularly adjacent to the southern boundary of the site and in the area of orchard and gardens in the eastern half of the site.
