The abstract describing the content of the publication or report
Abstract:		 An archaeological desk-based assessment was undertaken in response to proposals for the sale and renovation of the 'Church Cottages'. The cottages were one of the few remnants of the rural past of Gosport. Very few remains of human activity prior to the medieval period were identified in Rowner, the earliest reference for which was recorded in the Doomsday Book in 1086. The 12th century church of St Mary was nearby, as well as a possible moated manor house although the remains could have been outside the boundaries of the study area. [Au(adp)]
