Abstract:
Following an earlier phase of field evaluation, an area excavation was carried out within a part of Zone A where pre-modern features including a linear ditch had been recorded. Other than modern features the area examined proved to contain a linear ditch aligned NW-SE, probably a field boundary, the fill of which included finds of late prehistoric and early Roman date. Two gullies were also investigated but could not be dated nor their function explained. [Au]
