Abstract: |
This report represented the results of an archaeological evaluation in advance of a proposed area of access roads in to the business park. Significant archaeological remains were only noted in two trenches in the north and east of the site. These revealed three ditches and a pit, Early Iron Age pottery was recovered from two of the features. One piece of samian ware was also recovered and some struck flint was noted in the ploughed ground surface areas surrounding the trenches. It was likely that some limited further work may have been required in the north of the site. This was likely to have been a strip and map exercise to locate and sample archaeological features prior to development. [Au(adp)] |
