Abstract: |
Consultation of available records suggested that the greatest archaeological potential in the study area was for remains relating to Green Street House ( a Tudor mansion also known as Boleyn Castle, hence West Ham FC's Boleyn Ground), and for prehistoric evidence. The scattered finds of prehistoric artefacts on the gravels raised the possibility of prehistoric remains on the site, notwithstanding their subsequent destruction or disturbance by medieval and recent activity.
