Abstract: |
The assessment revealed that with the exception of the Frome to Westbury railway line which formed part of the SE boundary of the site, there were no previously recorded sites or monuments either within the application area or within close proximity. Worked flint and fired clay were discovered within c.120 metres of the site. However, cropmarks denoting the position of a possible limekiln, a site of possible local archaeological interest may have been of significance. Other features included three ancient lanes as well as a quarry in an adjacent field. [AIP] |
