Abstract: |
The report presented the results of an archaeological assessment for a proposed development. Five archaeological sites or listed buildings were identified on the site: three were groups of listed structures; the fourth was a possible medieval field system, pre-dating the development of the site and the fifth was a footpath and towpath running along the northern edge of the site. A number of other archaeological sites were identified within area, mostly post-medieval or 19th century in date and comprised infrastructure, or wool industry-related sites. None of these other sites would be directly affected by the development and none were likely to have extended into the development area. The probability of the existence of other, unrecorded sites were thought to have been limited. [Au(abr)] |
