Abstract: |
Trial excavations were undertaken on a proposed development site situated close to an area of known Roman activity, and in the heart of what is believed to be the area of earliest medieval settlement. Two trial trenches were excavated to reveal deposits containing 13th to 14th century pottery, some of which had been disturbed by later activity. There was no evidence of Roman activity in the area. It was supposed that there would be only minor archaeological implications from the proposed development. [Au(abr)] |
