Abstract: |
In January 1993 the English Village Housing Association commissioned the Warwickshire Museum to undertake an evaluation on arable land adjacent to Church Street, Stockton. Aerial photographs showed an enclosure cropmark close to two parallel linear cropmarks (Warwickshire SMR Ref No WA 6586) in an adjacent field, and a medieval moat (Warwickshire SMR Ref No WA 941) some 200m to the north east. Trial trenches (a 2.2% sample of the evaluation area) revealed a single undated field boundary ditch, with a parallel ridge and furrow field system.[AIP] |
