Abstract: |
The excavation of a plot of land south of Coleman Street and east of St Mary Street within the area of the middle Saxon town revealed several middle Saxon and medieval rubbish pits, a series of features that may be the evidence for a middle Saxon building, and a small pit containing Bronze Age pottery and worked flints. The pits produced evidence for middle Saxon and medieval domestic activity and for middle Saxon industries such as antler working, bronze working, iron smithing and weaving. [Au] |
