Abstract: |
Remedial repair works to arrest dilapidation to the structure of Fort Rowner, a Victorian artillery fort, were carried out. Before the work commenced it was considered that little new information about Fort Rowner's structure could be brought to light. The survey revealed many anomalies were discovered between the early plans of the fort, and the existing buildings. The survey concluded that the plans could not be relied upon for depicting detail or dimensions of individual structures. It also showed that the plans were deficient in that they failed to show a number of substantial and highly visible structures. [Au] |
